August doesn’t go quietly in Sandoval County. The final weekend of the month brings a four-time New Mexico Music Award winner to The BLOCK, a Vegas legend to Quezada’s and free trivia and a classic movie to close it all out Sunday.
Friday: Eryn Bent closes out August at The BLOCK
The BLOCK opens the weekend Friday with Eryn Bent on the Main Stage at 7 p.m. at 7805 Enchanted Hills Blvd. NE. The Santa Fe-based singer-songwriter is a four-time New Mexico Music Award winner with multiple nominations in songwriting, performance and production, and took home Best Seasonal Song at the 2026 NMMAs for “Christmas in Santa Fe.” Her latest album, “Let Go,” blends folk, Americana and traditional country rooted in her Montana upbringing.
George Wallace opens his two-night run at Quezada’s Comedy Club Friday with shows at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Wallace went from selling rags to VP of Advertising before walking away from the corporate world to write for “The Redd Foxx Show” and build one of the longest-running stand-up careers in the country. He won the American Comedy Award for Best Male Standup Comedian, appeared in Batman Forever as the Mayor of Gotham City and was best man at Jerry Seinfeld’s wedding. His latest project is Clean Slate, a half-hour comedy series picked up by Amazon Freevee — the final project from legendary producer Norman Lear — in which Wallace stars alongside Laverne Cox. Saturday: Shop local, Nate Fox and a family Brick Build
The Cabezon Shop Local Market runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cabezon Park, 2307 Cabezon Blvd. SE, with local makers, artists and small businesses alongside food trucks. Admission is free.
The BLOCK continues Saturday with a Family Brick Build with Big Brother Bricks at 1 p.m. — tickets available online at theblocknm.com — followed by the Nate Fox Band on the Main Stage at 4 p.m.
Sunday: Markets, trivia and Little Rascals
The Corrales Growers’ Market opens at 11 a.m. Sunday at Corrales Parks & Recreation, 500 Jones Rd., with local produce, honey, baked goods and artisan goods through Nov. 1.
The BLOCK closes out August Sunday with Brain Sang Game at 4:30 p.m., Braingang Trivia hosted by The Hoff at 6 p.m. (18 and older) and a free outdoor screening of “The Little Rascals” at 7 p.m. Bring blankets and chairs; no outside food or drink.
